Vyve Broadband Announces Launch of 200 Megabit-per-second Broadband Service in Wheatland

‘Vyve 200’ Affirms Company’s Commitment to Broadband Adoption in Rural Markets, Increases Business Speeds to 250 Megabits-per-second

Vyve Broadband’s mission is to provide rural communities with world-class broadband Internet service that levels the playing field. Today, Vyve has taken the next step in that mission with the launch of 200 Mbps Internet service to residential customers in the Wheatland market.

The local Vyve team recently completed successful testing of 200 Mbps service, and it is now available to local residents in Wheatland, which increases their fastest Internet speeds by nearly two times. Residents with multiple connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, TVs and gaming systems will be able to run their devices concurrently without interruption.

Local businesses will also experience a significant boost in their Internet capabilities, with the addition of a blazing fast 250 Mbps Internet service. By offering the fastest internet speed in the area, Vyve serves as a partner to businesses advancing the Wheatland economy.

“We are excited to add Wheatland to our growing list of 200 Mbps markets,” said Jeffrey DeMond, chief executive officer for Vyve Broadband. “‘Vyve 200’ will be a key product for certain residential customers who have unique needs, such as people who work from home or those using graphics-heavy gaming and visual design software. Now they will have the bandwidth they need to be connected.”

“It’s clear that the online technology, information and entertainment landscape is evolving on an almost daily basis. What’s incredibly fast today will be the norm tomorrow,” DeMond says. “Vyve is building the network now that our customers will want and demand in the future. We’re committed to long-term relationships with our customers, and part of that commitment is looking not only at their current needs, but what their needs will be several years down the road.”

This upgraded service represents another milestone in the ongoing drive by Vyve to provide cutting-edge broadband speeds in rural markets that have traditionally lagged behind in technology offerings. Vyve investments since the company launched in late 2013 have more than doubled the average speed for existing customers. Vyve is already offering ‘Vyve Gig’ (1,000 Megabits) in select markets and is currently testing in many more.

Residential customers who are interested in ‘Vyve 200’ service, or businesses interested in upgrading to 250 Mbps service can call 1-855-FOR-VYVE.

Vyve Calls on Kids, Ages 3-12, to Share their Vision of the Spirit of Christmas in
Third Annual Christmas Card Art Contest

One of the most anticipated holiday traditions across the country is the exchanging of Christmas cards. As the most wonderful time of the year approaches, Vyve Broadband has launched the company’s third annual “Create Our Christmas Card Art Contest,” engaging local communities and empowering children to design their Christmas Card.

Children ages 3-12 are invited to submit an original piece of artwork showcasing the “Spirit of Christmas”. The winning entry will be featured on the official 2017 Vyve Christmas card sent to over 200,000 households and thousands more across Vyve’s online and social media platforms. The winning student will also win a Cookies and Cocoa party, over $200 in art supplies for their school and an iPad mini!

The contest is heavily promoted to schools, churches, libraries, chambers of commerce and Mayor’s offices through Vyve public relations, community relations, social media, digital media and online channels.

“Certainly from an integrated branding perspective, the contest has been very successful for us,” said Vyve SVP of Marketing and Customer Experience, Diane Quennoz, “But more importantly, it furthers Vyve’s commitment to our communities, especially to our local schools.”

Last year 11-year-old Alicia from McGehee, AR won the contest with her artistic take on the “Spirit of Christmas,” two jolly snowmen, in front of a huge assembly of her peers, teachers and community leaders.

“This is my favorite program that we do each year because it really just makes everyone in our company and our communities feel good. Last year we had over 800 entries, it was so hard to choose a winner that we decided to highlight them all through TV commercials, on our Facebook page, and in our retail centers. We can’t wait to see the creativity that this year’s contest brings,” added Quennoz.

The contest is open to residents in Vyve-powered markets in Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming. Entrants must be between 3-12 years old at the time of contest entry. All entries are due November 1, 2017.

Official Entry Forms, and Official Rules are available at participating schools, Vyve retail offices, Vyve technicians or the Vyve website at: www.vyvebroadband.com/cardcontest. Entries will be judged by a panel of artists at Vyve and their advertising agency.

Fred’s Tire and Battery Partners with Vyve Broadband to Make Waiting ‘Faster’

Car trouble and maintenance is not often an enjoyable experience. In fact, a trip to the tire store used to mean a disruption that could mean time off work, waiting and a lot of stress. No one knows better than Fred’s Tire and Battery what that lost time means to customers.

So Darren Rutherford, Fred’s son who now runs the two service locations in Shawnee, strives to make his customers feel at home and make their time waiting in his shops a little easier.

“My dad started in 1974, so we’ve been here in Shawnee a long time. We’re locally owned, family owned, and operated. We notice people tend to sit and wait at Fred’s rather than dropping their cars off,” said Rutherford.

So Rutherford set out to make sure the showroom was comfortable and convenient for customers to spend their time. He partnered with Vyve Broadband to offer a variety of conveniences for customers waiting for their cars. Multiple TV’s play cartoons for young children and sports or news for an older crowd. When Vyve offered up an Internet solution that would make his business a WiFi hotspot for free, Darren knew it would be the perfect addition to this showroom.

As an incentive to 105 Megabit-per-second Business Internet customers, Vyve recently began offering a separate WiFi network for their business customers’ customers. It is separate from the network Fred’s runs on and they’re is able to offer the WiFi free of charge. It’s easy to
access for his customers, and brings a whole new level of “fast” to their wait.

“We have regular customers that come in every month for oil changes and they really like that we have the free Vyve WiFi. People bring in their laptops and tablets, they’re impressed with the speed and definitely less impatient about their cars,” said Rutherford.

Rutherford also appreciates that Vyve Broadband is a local provider. “The local Vyve guys are good guys and Vyve has hired over 100 employees here in Shawnee alone. I know they’re invested in my community,” said Rutherford.

Being able to have a local contact when he has questions or concerns has helped build his trust in the services Vyve provides.

“We are so excited about the work we’re doing for both our residential and commercial business customers in Shawnee. Seeing how our offerings like the WiFi network can help a business provide a better experience to their customers is truly a win-win. Vyve is committed to providing the products and services that our customers want today and anticipating the demands they’ll have in the future,” said Jeffrey DeMond, Chief Executive Officer for Vyve Broadband.

Vyve Broadband Helps Support Local Business growth with WiFi Services

Vyve Broadband continues to add to their service offerings for business customers, now offering a free WiFi hotspot for customers that sign up for 105 Mbps service. This service is an added benefit on top of what, for most, is the fastest Internet speed offered in their rural community.

Vyve has been focused on bringing world-class broadband Internet service to rural communities, and local businesses are seeing the benefits. This separate connection is custom-branded with a Vyve portal for customers to authenticate through. The availability of fast, free WiFi not only improves customer experience during a customer’s visit but also the likelihood of repeat traffic.

Fred’s Tire and Battery in Shawnee, Oklahoma operates two locations in town and has seen firsthand how a better customer experience can drive their business.

But there was a desire to provide a fast and secure Internet connection given the prevalence of mobile devices.

Vyve’s WiFi Hotspot solution was a very appealing option to Rutherford, and he knew it would help him provide better customer service. Vyve provided an easy-to-use interface for his customers, and a faster connection than what most experience at home.

“We have regular customers that come in every month for oil changes and they really like that we have the free WiFi. People bring in their laptops and tablets, and they’re less impatient for their cars,” said Rutherford.

The 105 Mbps speed has meant that some customers even look forward to bringing in their cars for maintenance. “People have come in and said ‘wow, this is fast! Next time I’m going to run all my computer and phone updates since I can’t always get them done at home,’” said Rutherford.

Rutherford also appreciates that Vyve has invested in Shawnee, hiring over 100 employees in the area, citing that their commitment to the community has strengthened his trust.

“Offerings like the WiFi network can help Commercial customers in rural America build their business, and in turn help power the local economy. Giving back to the communities we serve is important to us,” said Jeffrey DeMond, Chief Executive Officer for Vyve Broadband. “Vyve is committed to providing the products and services that our customers want today and anticipating the demands they’ll have in the future, regardless of the geographic area they reside in.”
